What with Tier 1/2/3, circuit breaks, fire walls, furloughing, and many other phrases we hadn't heard of until 2020 (don't forget in Wales, clothes aren't essential but alcohol is !), and politicians changing their policies and then not necessarily sticking to them themselves, there is still something you can rely on, and that's PPT !!!

WE STICK TO WHAT WE SAY WE WILL DO, which is to provide decent reliable customer service

During this ongoing caronavirous pandemic AND as and when things get better (which they will), please remember we can drive you to any UK destination.

That's a statement we are not planning on changing...

Although the Covid-19 lockdown is beginning to ease, so many businesses are still adversely affected. The aviation industry is no exception.

British Airways were talking about retiring their fleet of Boeing 747's by 2024 pre C-19. However, that has been brought forward, and the familiar sight of a 747 in the skies above Heathrow and Gatwick airport are no more, as Virgin Atlantic have also retired their 747"s.

This jumbo jet series has been in service and production for approximately 50 years. With its four jet engines and huge seating capacity, along with its fearsome reliability, it was a much loved plane, loved by the carriers, passengers and pilots. However, it also came with high running costs and used a lot of fuel.

Airlines are now switching to dual engined, smaller, lighter greener planes.

About 600 BA pilots are trained to fly the 747, so let's hope these highly qualified pilots can be redeployed in the aviation industry

So, another victim of the coronavirus pandemic. A sad end to a loyal aircraft

Stay safe
How sad to see Rolls Royce engines having to make 9000 staff redundant

It's so sad, that these highly qualified engineers that help design and build engines for not only the aviation industry, but also for other industries including the military are going to lose their jobs.

With Gatwick airport possibly losing British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, (and 12000 and 3000 job losses respectively), the impact of Covid 19 is really now beginning to hit the airline industry.

The UK government has announced their intention to introduce a 14 day quarantine from June 8th. Personally, I don't understand why they didn't introduce this much earlier. This will realistically only further the delay of business for the airports and ultimately the global economy, whereas if it had happened earlier, the airports could have possibly opened sooner.

Let's all hope that as soon as it's safe, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and Birmingham airport AND ALL OTHER AIRPORTS and ports can get operating and the world can get moving again.

Stay safe !
Here we are, just over a month into lockdown and things are at a standstill.

Airports and airlines are quiet, holidays and business trips cancelled, who knows when things will start to improve ???

All that matters is that we stay safe, look after ourselves and each other and hope things start to improve

So much negative news around at the moment, so I'm not going to add to it !!!

Look after yourselves

What terrible times we are in at the moment

Who would have thought at the turn of the new decade, the world would be as it is today ?

I'm going to keep it short this month, as we all have more than ENOUGH on our plates, but next month I expect to talk at length regarding the impact on the aviation industry and in particular the UK airports, including Heathrow and Gatwick

Stay safe, stay positive and look after yourselves
